Number Shark

What makes a phone number rare?

After the prefix, a UAE mobile number has seven digits: ten million possibilities per prefix. A pattern is rare when few of those ten million share it. Every number on Number Shark shows this as "1 in N".

The patterns that count

Repeated digits: a block of one digit, like 7777. The longer the block, the rarer, and the whole number in one or two digits is the rarest of all.

Counting: digits that count up or down, like 1234 or 4321. Longer runs, and runs that start in the prefix (054 321…), count for more.

Round numbers: zeros, especially a round ending such as 0000. Mirrors: endings that read the same backwards, like 1221. Pairs: 1122 or 1212. Matching blocks: the middle and the ending repeating each other. Years: an ending such as 1995.

Questions

How rare is my own number?

Type it into the checker on the Number Shark homepage. We don't store the numbers you check.

Is a rarer number always more expensive?

Mostly. The prefix (050 is the most wanted), lucky digits such as 786, and the line the number comes on matter too.
